The CREATE Advisory Board met on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. CREATE members examined alternative locations for transportation, warehouse, and auxiliary services departments. By relocating these services, traffic from buses and district vehicles will be minimized, creating a safer, less congested environment along the main entrance on Raleigh Street. Additional parking spaces would also be created as required by the City of Westminster and the remaining land would provide sufficient space for the trades academy. They discussed priorities and possible plans as they continue to develop the facility master plan. The next meeting is scheduled for April 10, 2008.

Seven Hidden Lake High School students were selected to receive the Metropolitan Mayors and Commissioners Youth Award (MMCYA) at the local level. MMCYA recipients were Jordan Smaldone, Tiffany Kekumano, Ravyn Shelton, Micheal Melecio, LaToya Atler, Vanessa Lopez and Kyle Layton. Mayor Nancy McNally will recognize each of the students at the February 25th Westminster City Council Meeting with an award and brief comments about their individual accomplishments.
