Swimmers complete season
The Girls Swimming and Diving team just finished up another season of long hard work.
Some of the top swimmers included junior Erin Bayliff, sophomore Rachel Hancock, junior Katie Thompson, sophomore Michelle Scott, sophomore Jenna Hann, freshman Gillis Weaver, freshman Liz Bernell, and junior Hannah Moyer.
"I'm extremely depressed this is my last year swimming," said Burgandine. "I love swimming. It's a great sport."
Team captains were Burgandine, Bayliff, and Thompson.
Burgandine said, "It takes more than talent to be a captain." Social Studies teacher Megan Madsen was the girls' new coach this year and her husband was the assistant coach.
The swim team this year had a fundraiser with the boys swim team to raise money for leukemia.
The swimmers were sponsored by the lap or were given flat donations and swam hard. The team appreciated all the new swimmers that joined the team this year.
"I have one speed," said Torrez. "Survival."
The girls had their last meet as a team on February 9 and 10. Girls state swimming meet was the 16 th and 17 th of February.
