Sixth-grader sings her way to top
Contributed by: Jeffco Public Schools on 11/20/2007

Singing sixth-grader Emily Costar from Westmisnter's Lukas Elementary has been selected as a member of the National Youth Choir at this year's Organization of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE) national conference in March.

The purpose of OAKE is to promote Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodály's vision of "Music for Everyone" through the improvement of music education in schools. Over 800 students from all over the country auditioned for the choir. The choir will perform in a concert at Denver's Ellie Caulkins Opera House on March 29, 2008.
