Diamonds in the rough

I teach at a local career college. I recently had two girls in my class, twins, that came to me very street tough. They were out to buck the rules and all who followed them. After some monthes of talking, counseling and tough love tactics, these two not only made it through the program, but they graduated and are employed in the field. The lesson here is not all of the young people who appear "lost causes" are actually lost. Sometimes all they need is a little extra prodding and someone to believe in them. To all teachers everywhere, keep trying, you may just suceed.
