Jeffco voters can track their ballot online
Contributed by: Julie Story on 10/7/2008

Voters can track the status of their ballot throughout the November 2008 election process on the Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder's Web site.

Visit www.votejeffco.com, and select the "Look Up my Voter Registration" link to look-up voter information by entering a date of birth and residence address. This will take voters to a page where they can view their voter registration information and see the date their ballot has been mailed, the date it was returned and the date the ballot was processed.

"It continues to be our hope that this feature allowing voters to check the status of their ballots will increase voter participation and confidence in the election process," said County Clerk and Recorder Pam Anderson.

To date, more than 200,000 Jefferson County voters have applied for a mail-in ballot for the November election.

The website also features information such as sample ballots, a listing of mail-in ballot drop-off locations throughout the county, polling place maps for voters choosing to vote at the polls and election results, posted after 7:00 p.m. on Election Night, November 4, 2008.

All mail-in ballots must be in the possession of the Clerk and Recorder's Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on November 4, 2008.

Our citizenship, our self-government, cannot be inherited, it is not a birthright. Our freedoms, if they are worth having, must be defended by the justice, honor, and gratitude of each subsequent faithful generation. A healthy society is made of people who care about its future; people who contribute to its development for the common good; people who reject the "I don't care" culture, who are not asking "what is in it for me"; people who are "practicing citizens."
