Magic,Comedy,Ventriloquism - A winning combination

At the 2008 Night of the Stars Talent Show 7 year old participant Michael Casey won first place in the Variety division of the show. The show was held at the D.L. Parsons Theatre located in the Nothglenn Recreation Center on Friday, Februrary 29th. The show was sponsored by Hyland Hills Park & Recreation District, the City of Northglenn and the City of Thornton.

Michaels show included a mix of Comedy, Magic and Ventriloquism.His show was very well received by the audience. Some of his Magic included water coming out of no where, to an unconventional appearance of his trusty assistant Mr. Possum to a Shark attack. He appeared to very much enjoy himself on stage. Michael will also appear at the Multi-City Talent Competition held on May 10th at the Place Middle School, 7125 Cherry Creek North Drive, Denver, CO, There he will compete with first place winners from other Front Range Communities.

His 13 year old sister Meghan also performed with her ventriloquism skills.
She performed with a custom made BIG BLUE BEAR and a Toucan Puppet on a perch. The Toucan is one newest technology in puppets available and is operated completely hands free. ( Handsfreepuppets.com)

Meghan has been performing at the National Ventriloquist Convention held annually in Fort Mitchell, KY since the age of 5. Here brother, Michael decided that playing with puppets looked like it was a lot of fun and decided to join in .

Both Meghan and Michael will be featured in the "Open Mic Sessions" of the 2008 " Vent HavenConVENTion where hundreds of ventriloquists from around the world gather to share ideas and learn.At Venthaven.com Meghan is featured in the Junior Vent University section of the web site. Meg also has appeared with Candice Bergen on the news program "20 minutes" that featured a special report on the convention.

Michael hopes to also join the "Society of Young Magicians" and possibly attend their first convention being held in Rhode Island this year. To earn funds to travel,stay and attend the conventions ,Both Meghan and Michael perform for area community service groups, fairs, festivals, libaraies and recreation centers.

Their mission is to spread MILES of SMILES ! :):):):) :) :):) :) :) :) :)
