Blind musician to perform benefit
Contributed by: David Noreen on 9/7/2007

Widely acclaimed musician Ken Medema is the featured entertainer for the annual Covenant Village Benefit Gala. Blind from birth, he has unique talent as composer, singer, pianist andhumorist. His visit is sponsored through Covenant Retirement Communities.

Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth, is host for this year's Gala, Tuesday, September 25. A reception is held at 6:00 p.m., with dinner Program and ticket information is available by calling 303/403-2380. (The reservation deadline is September 15).

Covenant Village, in Westminster, is the only accredited community in Colorado which offers continuing care. The Gala supports a fund for Benevolent Care which is needed when resident's income falls short of the actual costs of housing or health care. With the increasing senior population and people living longer, the need for benevolent care funds is expected to grow.

According to David Noreen, Benefit representative, this will be a most memorable event. "Ken Medema has the wonderful facility of relating to his audience", he said. "He can listen to a story and create a song about it in a one-of-a-kind melody. He is an entertainer who is truly in tune with his audience". Covenant Village extends a welcome to a great evening and a great cause.

David Noreen is an adminstrator of the Covenant Village of Colorado.
