Contributed by: FRCC on 10/22/2007

WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Contemporary tango music will be performed in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the Visual and Performing Arts Gallery at Front Range Community College.

Experimental Playground, an ensemble of music professors from the Denver University Lamont School of Music, will play the music of Piazzolla, who is known as the father of the new tango.

"Piazzolla's music is internationally hailed as the finest of the 20 th century blending of the sultry, provocative rhythms of tango with the elegance and sophistication of classical music," said Kevin Garry of the FRCC music faculty. "The Experimental Playground is one of the premier chamber ensembles in the mountain states."

Admission is free, but seating is limited in the gallery, located in Room C1660 of FRCC's Westminster Campus, 3645 W. 112 th Ave.

The music and arts programs at FRCC sponsor the concert with support from the Office of the Vice President.
