2007 marks the fifth annual live television broadcast of the Qwest Spirit of the Season, Colorado Symphony Orchestra Christmas concert. Qwest Communications partners with CBS4 and the CSO to bring the Qwest Spirit of the Season concert to a statewide audience. As a result, families throughout Colorado are able to enjoy this world-class performance. Families across the country can also enjoy the concert by watching it online at www.cbs4denver.com live during the event and for up to two weeks following the concert.

"The Qwest Spirit of the Season CSO Christmas concert is one of the largest and most technically complicated events produced for air on local television," CBS4 General Manager Walt DeHaven said. "It's also one of the most exciting and worthwhile events CBS4 takes on each year and a great opportunity for us to help the CSO raise the profile of Colorado's performing arts."

CBS4 spends more than six months preparing to broadcast the concert. It takes more than 100 people, including a 30-member production team, producers, engineers, camera operators, technicians, lighting and set professionals, on-air talent, musicians and music directors to broadcast the concert so that more than 2,000 people can attend the concert and more than 100,000 television viewers can enjoy the show.

"Our partnership with CBS4 and Qwest enables the orchestra to help fulfill a fundamental component of its mission - that is, to be a cultural asset for all Coloradans," said CSO President & CEO Douglas W. Adams. "We are thrilled that people throughout the state will have the opportunity once again to experience "A Colorado Christmas" during the holidays.

CBS4 is proud to be the official television station of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and has embraced its 79 orchestra members and the more than 300,000 patrons who enjoy CSO performances at Boettcher Concert Hall each year.
