MASSAGE ENVY® RAISES NEARLY $40,000 FOR SUSAN G. KOMEN FOR THE CURE DURING DENVER'S FIRST MASSAGE FOR THE CURE EVENT

Overwhelming Response Prompts Scheduling of Second Annual Denver Massage for the Cure; Event to be Held on Monday, June 9th, 2008

Massage Envy, a nationally franchised massage company focused on providing professional, convenient and affordable massage therapy services, said that Denver's first daylong fundraising event to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, entitled, "Massage for the Cure," raised nearly $40,000.

On Monday, June 18, 2007, all 13 Front Range-area Massage Envy clinics, offered free one-hour therapeutic massages in partnership with both the Denver and Colorado Springs Affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Donations of any amount were suggested in exchange for a massage, and all proceeds raised during the Massage for the Cure event directly benefited Susan G. Komen for the Cure initiatives.

A total of $38,543.00 was raised, with $34,785.00 distributed to the Denver Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which was generated from 12 of the Massage Envy locations. An additional $3,758.00 was donated to the Colorado Springs Affiliate, raised from one clinic there.

The event was widely attended with nearly 1,200 massages performed across all 13 locations by the approximately 350 therapists who worked that day.
The check was recently presented to Marilyn Saltzman, president and Valerie Chilewski, executive director of the Denver Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure at Massage Envy's Cherry Creek North clinic at 201 Steele Street. All funds raised will be used to support breast health and the Komen mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through advancing research, education, screening and treatment.

"We are very pleased with the results of the first Massage for the Cure event here in Denver. The response from the entire Front Range community was phenomenal, and we are extremely grateful for this commitment to and concern for breast cancer. The community truly banded together and reached out to show support and for that, we are very appreciative," said Larry Reiff, regional franchise developer for Massage Envy in Colorado.

"We are very excited to continue this effort next year as we strive to work together to combat breast cancer in conjunction with Susan G. Komen for the Cure," Reiff stated.

Saltzman added: "We are honored by the outpouring of contributions and concern from this community and also gratified by Massage Envy's commitment to our organization and cause. Because of the extraordinary efforts put forth by all the Massage Envy staff - both at the clinic and corporate levels - Komen will be able to provide grants for education, screening and treatment for uninsured and under-insured women and men in our 12-county service area."
Next year's Massage for the Cure event has been scheduled for Monday, June 9th, 2008. During the past two years, Massage Envy clinics across the country, including Phoenix and St. Louis (and soon Houston), have hosted similar events. Massage Envy and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Affiliates have been highly successful in partnering, and raised an estimated $150,000 to benefit breast cancer research.

An estimated 178,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the U.S. during 2007. An estimated 40,460 women will die from breast cancer this year. It is estimated that 2,030 men will be diagnosed and 450 men will die of breast cancer during 2007.
