On April 30, the Volunteer Connection of Jefferson County held its 25th annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon at the Copper Fields Events Chateau in Wheat Ridge. The theme for the luncheon was "Volunteers Light up Our World." The Master of Ceremonies was
Jim Benemann
of CBS4 Denver. All three Jefferson County Commissioners were in attendance as a proclamation was read proclaiming National Volunteer Week in Jefferson County.
Ann Ludvigsen
, Director of Volunteers at Seniors' Resource Center in Wheat Ridge, received the 2008 Spirit Award, given to a Volunteer Connection member who exemplifies outstanding leadership in support of volunteerism in Jefferson County.
Foresters was honored as Jeffco Volunteer Connection Business Partner of the Year.
Emilio Valdez
accepted the award on behalf of the Foresters for their work with Lost and Found, Inc.
The Volunteer Connection of Jefferson County is a network of nonprofit organizations, agencies and individuals who promote and encourage volunteerism throughout Jefferson County. Twenty-one agencies from Jefferson County recognized 83 volunteers for their contributions to life in Jefferson County.
