With Mother's Day just around the corner, many people are taking the time to select the perfect gift that says "Thank You" to all the mothers out there who have contributed so much time and love to their children. At this time of year, it's also a good time to consider the other mothers out there who struggle so hard to keep their families alive. These furry moms also need our love and support.
Furry moms? Yes, we are referring to the countless pets who have become lost, abandoned, or otherwise unwanted. While many shelters and pet stores give attention to homeless animals, there is still so much more work to be done. Cats, especially, tend to need much more attention and care from shelters and our society in general, and many cats end up homeless or needlessly euthanized due to overpopulation and neglect.
This season, your Mother's Day gifts can also providing support for these homeless mother cats and their kittens. With the warm weather, more cats are appearing outdoors. As a result, many un-spayed mothers and their new kittens end up struggling to fend for themselves and their litters. Worse yet are the kittens who have been abandoned by their human families or who have lost their mothers and desperately need food, warmth, and love from human companions in order to survive.
Some of the more fortunate of these feline families have made their way to Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats. As a small non-profit rescue run entirely by volunteers, Almost Home Adoptions is seeking tax-free deductions to continue with our efforts in caring for so many unwanted cats and kittens. As kitten season is in full swing, the volunteers at Almost Home Adoptions are working overtime to shelter and care for the multitudes of felines who are brought in every day needing human care and compassion.
Now, there's a way that your Mother's Day shopping can also help these unfortunate feline mothers and their babies. Almost Home Adoptions has recently joined iGive.com, a service that allows organizations like Almost Home Adoptions to benefit from the purchases of online shoppers. Individuals who shop through iGive merchants can choose Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats as their favorite charity, and a percentage of their purchases will be donated to help the rescued cats and kittens at our rescue.
This is a perfect time of year to give while shopping, in celebration of Mother's Day. iGive.com has fifteen online florists, as well as several gift delivery services, that can help make that Mother's Day shopping more fun. Additionally, up to 26% of each purchase will be donated to Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats when you shop through the iGive mall. Visit http://www.iGive.com/AHArc to start your Mother's Day shopping, and you will be helping those furry, purr y mother cats at Almost Home Adoptions with your gifts, too.
Almost Home Adoptions is also looking for donated supplies that will help its volunteers care for the growing population of homeless mother cats and kittens this season. Donations are greatly appreciated and may include high-quality dry and wet kitten food, paper towels, KMR kitten formula, baby blankets, gently used towels, small paper plates, bleach, or clay litter. By remembering Almost Home Adoptions when you shop for the perfect Mother's Day gift, you will be helping save the lives of countless mothers and their "furbabies" this season.
Almost Home Adoptions is a non-profit, cage-free, volunteer, and donation-based no-kill organization that dedicates time to saving endless amounts of homeless cats and kittens. All of these animals have been tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated, and most importantly, spayed/neutered to help control this nation's pet population and prevent the senseless euthanization of animals due to lack of shelter space. In addition to adoptive families, we are also looking for volunteers to help out at the shelter and/or foster the young, sick or injured. Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats is located at 7713 W. 92nd Avenue, Westminster CO 80021. Please call 303-432-2299 or visit the Center's website www.almosthomeadoptions.com for more information. And of course, monetary donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
