Ryan Grosek
of Troop 98 in Westminster, and son of
David
and
Terri Grosek
, has earned the highest rank in Boy Scouts, Eagle Scout.
Ryan has been a Boy Scout for four years and has served as the highest ranking boy in his troop, Senior Patrol Leader. He has also served as Patrol Leader and Troop guide. He has attended numerous scout outings, most notably, two weeks at the 2005 Boy Scout National Jamboree and a two week High Adventure in Nova Scotia where he sailed, canoed, and went sea kayaking. In June 2006, of a group of 48 scouts attended a week long National Junior Leadership Training where Ryan was one of two scouts elected to lead the group.
He plans to attend a two week trek at the Philmont National Scout Ranch next year. For his Eagle Project, Ryan directed scouts in making flash cards, labels, and other aids for hard-of-hearing children at the Gregory Hill Early Childhood Center. These aids are laminated and available in English and Spanish.
Grosek is a freshman at Ranum High School in unincorporated Adams County.
Deb Haviland is the director of community relations for Adams County School District 50.
