On Sept. 26 Westminster City Manager Brent McFall was presented with the Edwin O. Stene Award for Managerial Excellence. This prestigious award recognizes a University of Kansas graduate who displays exceptional performance in the field of city management.
The award was presented to McFall at the annual meeting of the International City/County Management Association held in Minneapolis in recognition for his career as a chief executive in five cities over 30 years. McFall was honored for his accomplishments in these communities leading to significant enhancements in the quality of life for citizens, and his track record of developing top-notch, innovative and committed management teams.
McFall has been city manager in Westminster since 2001. Previously, he held similar positions with Kent, Wash.; Federal Way, Wash., Emporia, Kan.; and Merriam, Kan. He is a past recipient of numerous awards, including a two-time winner of the Washington City/County Manager’s Association Award for Excellence.
The Edwin O. Stene Award for Managerial Excellence was named for one of the founding professors of Kansas University’s Master of Public Administration program. The award recognizes individuals who have performed in an exceptional manner in the management of the organization in which they are employed.
