Jeff Reckling, Adams County animal control officer, has been selected by the National Animal Control Association (NACA) as recipient of the 2005 Animal Control Employee of the Year Award. Reckling was recognized by the Adams County Board of Commissioners for this achievement in public hearing on June 6, 2005.

Reckling was selected by NACA from among other candidates across the United States as the employee that met the highest standards for an animal control officer.

Reckling has been employed by Adams County since 1978, spending more than half his life devoted to the well-being of the animals in his care. He was among the first officers in Colorado to take the state certification test for animal control officers and is also certified by the Department of Agriculture to investigate animal cruelty cases.
