Northglenn Boy Scout Troop 212 held an Eagle Court of Honor on June 10, 2006, to honor new Eagle Scouts
Kyle Shinneman,
Tim Krigbaum and
Patrick Guinard. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank in Boy Scouts. As part of earning the Eagle rank, the scouts were required to plan, lead and complete a project to benefit their community.
Kyle's Eagle project was collecting and assembling 300 "healthcare" kits to benefit individual victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He also collected more than $1,800 in donations for the United Methodist Committee on Relief to purchase generators and cleaning supplies to help disaster victims.
Tim Krigbaum's Eagle project was building a sensory sandbox for the Total Longterm Care nursing home. By placing familiar objects such as seashells in the sandbox, patients with dementia regain some of their memories.
Patrick Guinard's Eagle project was applying reflective tape on 90 fire hydrants in Westminster's Home Farm neighborhood and in the area between I-25, Huron Street, 120th Avenue and 128th Avenue. His project benefited the firefighters from the city of Westminster by helping them find fire hydrants more easily in the dark.
