Westminster Optimist Club Students of the Month

On Tuesday, Jan. 30, at a breakfast meeting at Ciancio's Restaurant at 94th and Sheridan, the Westminster Optimist Club honored two students, Alexis Zamora from Ranum High School and Ad'an Gloria from Westminster High School for being selected January Student of the Month by the staff members at their schools. The Club presented students with a framed certificate, special key chain and a booklet to preserve high school mementos.

Alexis Zamora, daughter of Mican and Dessa Zamora, and a sophomore at Ranum High School, is a member of the AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) program, excels at academics, is friendly and helpful and pushes hard. She is on the yearbook staff and plans to attend college after graduation.

Ad'an Gloria, son of Rodrigo and Cheryl Gloria and a junior at Westminster High School, is a member of the AVID program, carries a 4.0 grade point average, is dedicated to education and is an asset to the school. He also is a member of the band. After graduation, Ad'an plans to go to college to earn a doctorate in astronomy and become a college professor.

Ann Heim is a member of the Westminster Optimist Club.
