Westminster Senior Police Officer Tim Halladay has been named one of the top 10 instructors in the State of Colorado's "Alive-at-25" Driving Program. Halladay received the honor on Feb. 11during the annual Alive-at-25 banquet.

He has been an Alive-at-25 driving instructor for about two years. There are 112 instructors throughout the state who teach the program to young drivers aged 14 to 24. Halladay achieved a rating of more than 98 percent from the students he instructed during 2005.

Colorado State Patrol initiated the Alive-at-25 program six years ago in an effort to reduce the number of auto fatalities in the 16-to-24 age group. Three years ago, the Westminster Police Department Traffic Section began instructing the program through Parks and Recreation in concert with Colorado State Patrol. The department currently has five officers who teach the program.
