More than 60 football players from Westminster's The Academy went on the road to get their first win of the 2008 season.
As part of their "Caring with the Cats" campaign, players on the high school and junior teams pledged to do 200 hours of community service in the surrounding area. So, they traveled to E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park in Northglenn on May 21, where they spent about two hours meticulously scouring for trash and debris. The 120-plus hours of community service helped them complete their goal.
Head football coach
Seth Replogle
said the "Caring with the Cats" program is meant to get the team involved in the community as well as a fundraiser for equipment, camps, traveling and other team items. Sponsors pledged a certain number of cents per every hour completed or gave a flat donation.
For more information about the "Caring with the Cats" program, contact Replogle at seth.replogle@adams12.org.
