Brownies honor firefighters as hometown heroes
Contributed by: Laura Koppel on 3/9/2006

WESTMINSTER, CO--- Brownie Troop 962 selected the Westminster Fire Department as their Hometown Heroes this year. Hometown Heroes are the people and organizations that help make communities a better place to live.

The Girl Scouts Mile Hi Council offers the Hometown Heroes Program as a way to give the girls an opportunity to learn more about their “heroes” through educational tours, demonstrations or outreach programs. The girls give their “hero” organization boxes of cookies that have been donated by cookie customers.

When: Saturday, March 11, 10-10:30 a.m.
Where: Fire Station No. 2, 9110 Yates St., Westminster, CO 80031
What: Brownie Troop 962 will receive a public education tour and donate 152 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to firefighters.

Media representatives are asked to RSVP to Laura Koppel, public information officer at 303-430-2400, ext. 4518 by Friday, March 10.
