WPD: Sister's boyfriend racks up huge energy bill

A 27-year-old Palmetto, Fla., woman reported someone using her social security number to open an Xcel account, which had an $1,836.59 charge on it at 11:03 a.m. Nov. 8. According to the report, the woman found out her sister's boyfriend had used the number to open the account. However, the whereabouts of the boyfriend are unknown.

A 40-year-old Aurora man reported being assaulted at the corner of 72nd Avenue and Federal Boulevard at 1:29 a.m. Nov. 8. According to the report, the man said he had been drinking at a bar since 2 p.m. that afternoon. He identified his attacker only as "Tom," who he met at the bar, but was otherwise incoherent. He was taken to St. Anthony North Hospital for treatment.

A 24-year-old Westminster man was cited for driving his motorcycle on Little Dry Creek Trail, near the 7300 block of Winona Court at 6:20 p.m. Nov. 7.

A 47-year-old Thornton man was arrested for shoplifting two cases of beer worth $31 from Safeway, 8430 Federal Blvd., at 11:22 p.m. Nov. 3. An unknown subject drove away in a green car when contact was made between store security and the man.
