These reports were taken from the Westminster Police Department.
A 53-year-old Denver man was arrested on suspicion of trying to steal $212.81 worth of goods from Safeway, 7353 Federal Blvd., at 9:20 a.m. Dec. 20. At first the man gave a false name and said he was homeless, but after going through the records, his true identity was discovered.
A 42-year-old Broomfield woman was arrested on suspicion of trying to steal $42 in perfume from Sears, 5501 W. 88th Ave. in Westminster, at 9:57 a.m. Dec. 20.
A 21-year-old Westminster man reported being attacked at 2:13 p.m. Dec. 20 at the 9900 block of Hoyt Way. The man said he unintentionally stepped out in front of a white Ford pickup truck which was carrying a trailer. A passenger jumped out of the truck and started chasing the man, eventually knocking him down and hitting him. The man said he didn't know who the driver nor passenger were, but could identify them if necessary. Two witnesses confirmed the attack.
A 44-year-old Westminster woman reported someone making two charges without her permission, worth a total of $1,800, on her debit card at department store in California at 12:34 p.m. Dec. 21. The woman said a waiter at a local restaurant had her card for an especially long time when she paid for a meal. Her financial institution will not charge her for the erroneous charges.
A 37-year-old Golden man was cited for public indecency at the corner of West 72nd Avenue and North Yates Street at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 24.
Appliances were reported taken from a townhome under construction on the 11200 block of Osage Circle at 11:40 a.m. Dec. 26. A Whirlpool dishwasher, microwave and stove, valued at $1,600, were removed between 3:30 p.m. Dec. 21 and 9 a.m. Dec. 26. Workers were constantly in and out of the townhome working on its construction, but apparently had the weekend off for the holidays.
