Drinking leads to bad choices
Police responded to a reported indecent exposure that occurred at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 21 on the 8000 block of Sheridan Boulevard, according to reports. A security guard witnessed two females urinate in a parking lot and then get back into their cars, according to reports. After pulling her over, reports said the police officer allegedly noticed a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath. According to reports, the driver said, "I know it was wrong but I made it home safe." The driver did not pass roadside tests. She was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and taken to a detox facility.

A 48-year-old Denver woman was cited for not having her German shepherd leashed at 11:23 a.m. Feb. 10 at a park on the 6100 block of Lowell Boulevard. Reports indicate the officer who issued the citation warned the woman to put the dog on a leash and the woman complied, only to unleash the animal after the officer was out of sight. Reports say the officer recontacted the woman when he noticed the dog off leash again. The woman called the citation "outrageous harassment" and, according to reports, told the officer that he "should be catching criminals." The report adds the woman admitted to having read and understood nearby park signs indicating it is illegal to not have your dog leashed.

Instead, she was given a summons and taken before a judge for arraignment, where she pled guilty and was assessed a fine.

The 51-year-old woman said she had been in her yard the entire time and that the 57-year-old was constantly trying to provoke her into violating the restraining order, according to reports. Finding no independent witnesses, police took no action against either woman, according to reports.

The parents asked to see the friend before she could leave, but she refused. It turned out two guys were waiting for her, not a female friend. Her parents refused to let her go and the father took her into the backyard while the girl allegedly started kicking, screaming and hitting her father.
