A 47-year-old Federal Heights man was arrested on suspicion of stealing $72.24 worth of steak from Safeway, 7343 Federal Blvd., at 8:30 a.m. April 7. The man allegedly was taking steaks and trying to sell them outside the store.
A house on the 9100 block of Vrain Street was robbed between 9:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Feb. 27. A 27-year-old woman living in the house said at least $3,000 worth of goods were taken from the home, including jewelry and electronics. Police noticed muddy footprints from two different shoes in the home. A neighbor saw two white males with long hair retreat quickly from the area, but no positive identification could be made.
A juvenile on a bus was allegedly assaulted at 2:15 p.m. Feb. 27 in the area of 107th Avenue and King Street in Westminster. The juvenile was allegedly called an expletive by a girl after not putting up her window in the bus. When they arrived at the bus stop, the same girl told the juvenile to hurry up, again with an expletive, when the juvenile denied that request. The girl then allegedly slapped the juvenile in the back of the head. The juvenile's parents immediately returned to the school to report the incident and also to demand police action. Police interviewed a witness, who allegedly said he heard the expletives, but not the physical confrontation. The tape from the bus' camera was being retrieved. Initial attempts to contact the girl by police were unsuccessful.
A juvenile was cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct after allegedly chasing around other children with a pocket knife, telling them that he was going to kill them, at 3:22 p.m. At Squires Park, 3450 W. 99th Ave. An adult saw what was going on and called 911. When questioned by police, the boy said he was just messing around with friends, who had all left before the police showed up. The juvenile's father showed up and disagreed with his son being cited.
