Last night deputies from the Gilpin County Sheriff's Department found Mr. Frye deceased from what appeared to be a self inflicted gun shot wound.
No further information will be released because of the nature of this incident.
On April 1, 2008 at about 3:25 p.m. the Westminster Police Department received reports of a suicidal male at his apartment in the 9000 block of Vance Street. Police discovered the male, Brian Frye (DOB: 10-29-77), was not there, but found several items that are used in manufacturing explosive devices along with a note confirming his suicidal intentions.
The apartment building was evacuated until the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad was able to safely remove the explosives. Residents have since been allowed back into their apartments.
Westminster Police do not know Mr. Frye's current whereabouts and the full extent of his intentions. Mr. Frye is known to be an avid outdoorsman and owns several firearms. It is unknown at this time if he is armed or in possession of additional explosives. Westminster Police are currently trying to locate Mr. Frye's:
· Dark blue 1988 Chevrolet K5 Blazer possibly bearing Colorado license plate 427-DMX.
· An older red Chevrolet Blazer, unknown license plate.
