WESTMINSTER POLICE

GANG MEMBER BEATEN, ROBBED

A 24-year-old Westminster man and self-confessed gang member told police he was beaten and robbed by three men July 29. The men got away with his car and cell phone, the man reported. He stated he invited the three men - GKI gang members he had met in prison - to his apartment on the 2800 block of Eliot Circle that day when suddenly, the men "jumped" him and took off with his car. The man was severely beaten and refused to identify the man names of the men who assaulted him.

DOUGNUT BAKER ARRESTED FOR MENACING

A 66-year-old baker at a doughnut shop was arrested Aug. 2 after he allegedly threatened teens with a handgun. The baker, an employee of Winchell's, 7930 Sheridan Blvd., allegedly pointed a Colt Gold Cup 1911 firearm at two kids who were skateboarding in the parking lot behind the doughnut shop at approximately 11:24 p.m. He allegedly told one of the juveniles he would "blow your head off" if they didn't leave. He was arrested and booked at the Adams County detention facility.

WESTY MAN BUSTED WITH COCAINE

A 21-year-old Westminster man was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana during a routine traffic stop Aug. July 31. The man was a passenger in the car when it was pulled over at 6:52 p.m. at the intersection of 92nd Avenue and Federal Boulevard for an improperly attached front license plate and a cracked windshield. A search of the driver turned up a pack of Zig Zag rolling papers and a subsequent search of the Westminster man revealed approximately four grams of marijuana and 28 grams of cocaine. The man was arrested and booked at the Adams County detention facility.
