POLICE SEEK BANK ROBBER

Police are looking for a man who robbed TCF Bank on the 7200 block of Federal Boulevard on Aug. 23. The suspect, described as a white male, approximately 6-feet tall and about 170 lbs., walked into the bank at 2:47 p.m. and approached a teller. The suspect stated, "give me all your hundreds, fifties and twenties. No funny stuff," according to the report. The teller handed the suspect the money along with a bank robbery deterrent device, which the suspect threw out. In all, the suspect is believed to have gotten away with more than $3,300. The suspect was wearing a gray shirt, a baseball cap, jeans and sunglasses. Police believe the suspect has robbed a number of other banks in the area. Anyone with information about the robber should contact the Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at 303-629-7171.

JUVENILE CAUGHT STEALING

A 17-year-old boy was issued a summons for theft Aug. 22 after he was caught stealing sunglasses from an area mall. Officers were dispatched at 11:21 a.m. to JC Penney, 14658 Delaware St., in reference to a shoplifter who had been detained. The store's security guard stated he watched as the teen put two pairs of sunglasses in his pocket and walked out without paying. He was handcuffed and later released to his parents.

MAN COULDN'T STAND TAVERN'S URINAL

A 34-year-old Wheat Ridge man was issued a summons for public indecency Aug. 17 after he was caught urinating in a parking lot. An officer stated he was on bike patrol at 11:02 p.m. near the 92nd Avenue Tavern, 7701 W. 92nd Ave., when he noticed a man urinating in the parking lot. In his defense, the man stated, "I can't stand using the bathrooms in there. I'd rather urinate out on the wide open spaces in fresh air."
