Westminster Police

TWO MEN ASSAULTED

Three suspects attacked two Westminster men Aug. 28 outside of their apartment complex. Police were called at 1:26 p.m. to the 3800 block of 68th Avenue on a report of an assault. The two men, ages 18 and 20, stated the suspects walked up behind them, put them in a headlock and punched the men in the face. The suspects claimed the two men stole a number of compact discs from them. The two men, however, stated they didn't know what they were talking about. The officer searched the area, but couldn't locate the suspects.

FENDER BENDER LEADS TO DUI

A 57-year-old Boulder man was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Aug. 28 after he hit a car while waiting for the light to turn green. Police were called at 8:35 p.m. to the intersection of 80th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in reference to a minor traffic accident. The Boulder man appeared intoxicated and was asked if he was OK to drive. The man allegedly responded no. He was arrested without incident and processed at the police department. As he was being booked, the man allegedly spontaneously uttered that he often hangs out at the Rear Inn Lounge. He also stated the accident was not his fault because the driver in front of him "did not go when he was supposed to go."
