PRACTICAL JOKE LEADS TO INJURY

An officer gave a 15-year-old student at Westminster High School a warning Sept. 23 after he hurt his friend's finger. A report states the 15-year-old male pulled back his friend's middle finger at the school at approximately 1 p.m. In his defense, the 15-year-old stated it was just a game, stating, "the game was to bend back the finger of a person and when the person felt pain and cried out, then that would indicate the sound the person made while having sex." No charges were filed in the incident.

STUDENT CITED FOR POSSESSION

A 14-year-old Westminster High School student was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and graffiti materials Sept. 23. The student was found at the school at approximately 2:45 p.m. with a marijuana pipe and a bottle of ink commonly used for graffiti. The student later was transported to the Westminster Police Department.

JEWELRY STORE ROBBED

Police are looking for two suspects who robbed a jewelry store Sept. 23. At 3:09 p.m., police were dispatched to Fred Meyers Jewelry, 5403 W. 88th Ave., inside the Westminster Mall. An employee stated two male suspects stole two rings from the store and ran off, eventually leaving the mall in a gray mini-van. Police were unable to locate the suspects. The two rings were valued at $6,395.

MOTORIST CAUGHT WITH METH

A 28-year-old Broomfield man was arrested Sept. 25 for suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. The man was pulled over at 6:52 p.m. at the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Bryant Street for running a stop sign. The motorist initially refused to stop, but pulled over. A search of his vehicle turned up a small bag of meth, approximately 2 grams. The man was booked and transported to Adams County Jail.
