POLICE QUESTION SHOOTING VICTIM
A 21-year-old Westminster man who was shot in the leg March 3 refused to give police details of the incident after he was taken to the hospital. An officer was dispatched at 3:21 a.m. to North Suburban Medical Center in reference to a man at the hospital who had been shot at 92nd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard. The shooting victim initially told police he did not see the gunman, but later changed his story. He said he did know the man who shot him, but didn't want to get the police involved in the situation. The man refused to fill out a written statement or sign a release of medical records. Officers took his information and later looked for evidence of the shooting at the scene of the incident, but found nothing.
TRAFFIC OFFENDER BUSTED FOR DUI
A 24-year-old Erie man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence March 3 after he allegedly crashed into another driver. Police were dispatched at 4:10 p.m. to 104th Avenue and Federal Boulevard in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The driver of the car, who had ran into a truck,was found in the parking lot of a King Soopers nearby. A search of his car turned up five empty cans of Budweiser. He failed a sobriety test and was taken into custody. A review of his record revealed the man had his license revoked and was a habitual traffic offender. He later was transported to Adams County jail.
FIRED EMPLOYEE HARASSES OLD BOSS
A manager at the Westin Hotel filed a report March 5 claiming an ex-employee made a threatening phone call. The manager stated he received the call at around noon and recognized the voice as an employee who had been fired a few months ago due to consistently being late and not performing his required duties. The caller allegedly stated, "This is (employee's name) brother. You fired my brother. I'm going to come over there and fire you (expletive)." The hotel manager stated he had not received any phone calls since.
