Poker run to help Have a Heart
Contributed by: Davies Locker on 6/13/2006

On June 24, 2006, Davies Locker will be hosting a motorcycle poker run to benefit "Have a Heart."

In December 1996, the "Have a Heart Project" was began as a 3-way cooperative effort between the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Adams County School District 50 and Smith World Travel.

Since 1996 they have served more than 10,000 children and their families. They are feeding between 500and 700 people every two weeks. They need $3,000 a month to maintain the level of assistance they have been providing.

Have a Heart does not receive any matching funds. All work is done by volunteers.

Individuals, businesses and service organizations contribute to keep Have a Heart operating. Resources and contributions provided by the community can go a long way in making a difference in the lives of school-aged children and their families.

The poker run will start at Davies Locker at 8845 Lowell Blvd. in Westminster. Cost is $10 per hand or 2 for $15. Check-in is between 5 and 6 p.m.

After the run, prizes will be awarded and there will be live music. All types and brands of motorcycles are welcome.
