Chris Dittman is an incumbent on the Westminster City Council.
My name:
Chris Dittman
Age:
63
Family:
Deb Haviland, son Cameron, daughter Cindy
What I do:
Retired educator, work for North Central Association accrediting member schools, usher at the Rockies, Westminster City Council
My favorite place in town to hang out:
I do not have one favorite. I have several.
What I like most about living here:
The people, parks/open space, stability of the city. Working with a great city staff.
My interests and hobbies:
Golf, Major League Baseball, reading, movies, playing in trivia contests with my son, local and national news.
What is my favorite thing to cook:
Anything on the barbeque grill.
People who inspired me (and how):
My father for many reasons, my mother for her artistic ability and sense of humor, Coach Paul Hustad-longtime basketball coach who taught me to be honest with myself and how to represent myself to others, many of my friends who have been successful yet humble, people who are intelligent, well spoken and able to listen.
How I have contributed to the community:
I have served for six years on the city council, I was an educator in District 50 for 25 years-the last seven as principal of Westminster High School, past president of the Westminster Rotary Club, Board of Directors/Advisors of the Yellow Ribben/Light for Life Foundation dealing with teen suicide, Board of Directors of the District 50 Education Foundation, Westminster Economic Development Board, former board member of the Community Artist Series. I have lived in Westminster over 50 years.
What are the biggest issues facing your city now:
Transportation, economic development, infrastructure maintenance, water will always be issues. The re-development of the Westminster Mall is a major goal of mine.
