Pets, Smile for National Pet Dental Health Month
Contributed by: julie bolduc on 1/5/2006

Just like you, your pet's teeth need dental care too.  Stop and take a look at your pets' teeth and ask yourself how you would feel if your teeth looked like theirs.  Painful teeth will not stop your pet from eating. Your pet's survival instinct is more powerful than painful teeth.

Ignoring your pet's mouth will allow the bacteria to lead to severe dental disease, tooth and bone loss and other serious health problems, such as heart disease, liver and kidney failure.

February is National Pet Dental Health Month and your veterinarian may be offering discounts on having your pet's teeth cleaned.  Also, check with your local veterinarian for more information on Peridontal disease and prevention.
