Hodgkins students start at new building

Picture perfect beginning
Josephine Hodgkins Elementary School principal Ricardo Concha shows, from left, fifth-graders Jennifer Hernandez, Katia Cabanas and Anahi Orte a photo he took of them on his iPhone on Jan. 12, the first day the new school's doors opened at 3475 W. 67th Ave., Westminster. Students from the closed Berkeley Gardens and Baker elementaries attend the new school.

The Adams 50 school has 650 students ranging from preschool to fifth grade. It is approximately 80 percent Hispanic and 98 percent of students are on free and reduced lunch, an indicator of poverty level.

Here are photos of studnets from the first day of school in their new building.
