Saying Goodbye
Contributed by: Kevin Duncan on 4/12/2007

I have been wanting a tattoo for a long time now but just was not sure what to get.

A couple of years of ago things started to change for me. I lost my father and one day short of a year later I lost my mother. I had lost a good friend many of years ago that could not beat his demons. The one thing all three of these losses had in common was I did not get a chance to say good bye to any of them. This had played on my mind until I decided to do this tattoo.

This tattoo has seven stories in it. The first is the rose for my mother. The two pistols are for my father and good friend. The RIP on the tombstone is my way of saying goodbye to these people I lost. The guns hanging on the cross are for me hanging up my old ways.

The bottle repersents me walking away from drinking. And last but not least a little folklore, the gun handles will be finished in white for Wild Bill Hickok's pearl handle revolvers (hey not everything has to be so serious). Bryan at Pirates Tattoo on Washington St. in Northglenn did the work.

He really took this from my crude drawing and ran with it to give me this great tattoo.
