Blue suede shoes in Las Vegas
Contributed by: Erica McEwen on 11/15/2007

Elvis Presley is in concert at the Las Vegas Hilton, Dec 12 th, 1976. Attempting to get tickets for one of our rare trips away from the kids, my husband and I were deeply disappointed to be "out of luck" when it came to purchasing tickets for Elvis' sold-out performance.

The evening of the performance we went to the Hilton Hotel to the box office area and again were turned away for any seats that might have opened up. Despite all of this, we decided to hang around and wait.

Just as the last ticket holders entered the theater, a gentleman came running up to us and put two complimentary premium seat tickets in our hands and raced away saying that he couldn't leave a winning streak at the blackjack table.

We couldn't believe our good fortune, but felt doubly lucky the next morning when the radio announced that Elvis had canceled all remaining nights of his Hilton Hotel engagement due to feeling poorly. We had seen the KING at his last ever Las Vegas show!
