Vote for Randy Drennen for Adams 12 School Board
Contributed by: Janice Zamora on 9/12/2005

Editor:

I am writing to you today to express my heartfelt support for Randy Drennen, candidate for the Adams 12 School Board from District 3.

Randy Drennen is an outstanding choice for School Board, and has already shaped a comprehensive vision for what he believes is the best way to support our teachers and to ensure the success of our students. This fall, Randy’s oldest son will be entering kindergarten, and Randy is naturally concerned about the direction of his son’s education. I am confident that when elected, Randy will make answering the concerns of his fellow parents his top priority. Currently, according to Adams 12 school district, only one other current school board member has a child enrolled in an Adams 12 school. It just makes sense that parents – who are one of the foundations of the success of a school district –

should be adequately represented on the Board of Education.

Randy Drennen also understands the challenges faced by school districts. That’s one of the reasons why he was a co-founder and now chairman of the John C. Drennen Foundation, a scholarship organization dedicated to assisting young men and women pursue their dreams through higher education.

Randy Drennen is a strong advocate for school choice and strongly supports charter schools. In an era when teacher resources are stretched to the limits, it only makes sense that school districts should embrace any opportunity to improve our children’s education. It is refreshing to have finally found a school board candidate who isn’t afraid to step up and support charter schools which can provide exceptional opportunities for all students.

This is a critical time for public education, and it’s time to make some sweeping changes to the leadership of the Adams 12 School District.  Randy does have is a vested interest in his son and all the other students in the Adams 12 school district. The integrity and dedication that Randy Drennen has shown as a parent, leader of his community, chairman of an educational foundation, and by putting his name on the ballot for School Board is not something that can be taught or learned in a classroom.

I would encourage everyone to please support Randy Drennen in this year’s school board election, and to cast your vote for Randy Drennen on November 1st.

Sincerely,

Lance Zamora
