My court appearance and a high fee could have been avoided had I received the ticket the officer proclaimed I would be receiving in the mail. A process that could have easily been shortened and just.
Pre-planned scam or justified on the laws part it follows the key elements of the system: Power and Money=Corruption. I don't claim that all representatives of the system are unjust to clarify my views but it does seem like a majority is.
I was on the clock driving a rental truck in the early morning. I was pulled over for speeding and was ticketed for having no insurance. The officer told me I would be receiving my ticket in the mail. Never did but I did receive a letter stating they have a warrant on me and will serve it to me if I don't show up for court. I would of had no problem paying the fine had the ticket come in the mail being a cooperative citizen that I am. When I went to court I told both the assistant lawyer and judge that the cop told me I would be receiving the ticket in the mail and never did and that is why I am here. the nice assistant lawyer said we trained the officers not to tell the civilians that. The judge told me I still had to pay the extra fee for the warrant even though the officer is at fault. no insurance cost+ court fee+ warrant fee= an unfair fine.
So if you are ticketed be sure you ask for the ticket on the spot. It sounds like a strategize scheme to me, Officers and judicial system in on the scam together. I don't know this for a fact so don't quote me. I did hear other defendants claim the same scenario though. Foolish of me to be speeding *among the others who also were speeding I was just unfortunately the chosen one.* I realize on my part had I not been speeding I could have avoided this whole ordeal but to get jacked harder than need be is the real issue. Mind the rules of the road and be as safe as possible but if you get caught make sure you don't fall into the unjust trap.
