Who says wiffleball is for kids?
Contributed by: Seth Davis on 7/23/2006

Dodgeball, kickball and capture the flag are typically relegated to playgrounds in elementary school, which is something the Western Alternative Sports Association (WASA) is working to change. The adult sports league offers lighthearted competition and a way to meet new people.

Jessica Baca, 23, of Westminster, said she heard about WASA when her "crazy roommate told her about it." Baca said she decided to participate because the league offered her a chance to compete in something. According to Baca, she already has benefited from joining the alternative sports league.

"I've been meeting a lot of new friends and played a few sports I have never played before," Baca said. "And beer is a plus at the end of the night."
