Coop's Rambling Lunacy
I don't write about religion, sports, current events, news, or anything even vaguely political. I just write about random garbage, and I like it that way!

My wallet was looking pretty ratty, so I decided that it was time for a new one. When it came time to put my cards and such in the new wallet, I had a strange feeling of loss. I realized that I have had my wallet for at least nine years, if not longer. It has been with me through a lot of huge life changes and things that have made me who I am today. It has held paychecks for nine different employers. It was with me for the births of my niece and nephew, many lives saved and countless lives lost. It has been in my pocket on many serious calls and even a few serious structure fires.
It has been there with me through countless trips to the mountains and around the state on untold thousands of miles of road. It came along with me to seven foreign countries on three continents. It has seen the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, the Gulf of Mexico, the Ross Sea, the Tasman Sea and the Caribbean. It has seen deserts, mountains, plains, the tropics and temperature ranges from over 100 degrees to way below 100 degrees. It has been right there with me through a lot of amazing experiences.
I think it's pretty funny that I feel an attachment to such an inane inanimate object. I don't know why we can get so attached to something so trivial. I hope that my new wallet sees as many life experiences as my old one. I hope now that I have my dream job and I am a little more chained down than I have been in the past. I do not miss out on life's opportunities. I am not ready to sit on the porch and watch the world go by. There are still too many things that I have not seen.
