Contributed by: Mike Stites on 10/22/2006

It's week eight and here are some of last week's answers. Wheat Ridge hasnine square miles, there are 32,022 residents, 19 percent are over the age of 65 and the city was incorporated in 1969.

Now for this week's asignment, how many acres of open space are in Wheat Ridge? Can the Richards Hart Estate be rented for wedding receptions, parties and meetings? The Dairy Queen located at 38th Avenue and Pierce Street used to be what for many years? For bonus points, what was the brand and who owned it for several years? At 38th Avenue and Harlan Street, the southeast corner, for many years was what? For bonus points, what brand and who owned it? Where Pep Boys is located at 44th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard, what business was there for years? Where did that business locate after leaving? Let's get to know our community together. It can be fun.

The Dairy Queen location Was a Exxon station owned by Don Benson. The Pep Boys Location was a Safeway store. They are now located at 38th and Wadsworth. I believe there was a gas station at 38th and Harlan as well. Brand and owner escape me at this time. Sincerly, David Hanscom
