Get to know your Wheat Ridge community 101
Contributed by: Mike Stites on 10/29/2006

It's week 9 and I hope you have been doing your homework. There are 250 acres of open space in Wheat Ridge. Don Benson owned the gas station at 38th and Pierce. The gas station at 38th and Harlan was a Gulf station owned by Russell Stites. Now for this week, What did the Wal-mart at 38th and Youngfield used to be? Remember the Denver Dry Goods? Where was that store located? The King Soopers store located at 38th and Sheridan used to be located where? What business is located at 4990 Kipling Street? Where is the Table Mountain Animal Shelter? Have you been to a park lately? Pick one and go by and visit. Getting to know our community can be fun.
