Wheat Ridge Police and Fire partner
to raise awareness and money
to fight kids' cancer

Over17 volunteers from the Wheat Ridge Police and Fire Departments have signed up to have their heads shaved bald in the name of kids' cancer awareness! So far, the teams have raised over $3,200 for this great foundation, but there's still a way to go to meet their combined goal of $8,000.

On Monday, March 17, "Shaving the Way to Conquer Kids' Cancer" will be in Wheat Ridge at the Old Chicago at 3250 Youngfield St. The event will begin at 6 p.m. The public is invited to come in and watch the festivities and make a donation.

"We're coming down to the wire," said Wheat Ridgefirefighter and local event organizer Geoffrey Green. "Community involvement is key to helping us reach our goal in this important fundraising event."

Anyone wanting to donate to the Wheat Ridge teams online can do so through the St. Baldricks Foundation Web site at www.stbaldricks.org.

Click on "Find a Participant." Enter "Old Chicago" under the search by location, and a list of participants will appear for you to select from.

Please support your local emergency service providers and join them for an evening of fun as they shave their heads for this worthy cause.
