On Sunday, September 7, the Rocky Mountain Masonry Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is holding the second annual Run Around the Block 5K at Sloan's Lake, just off 25th and Sheridan Blvd.. The race, which begins at 10 a.m., is open to all ages and abilities, runners or walkers. This USAT&F certified course only has a total elevation change of 20 feet. It's fast. It's fun. It's a big circle.
Register online at
www.active.com or download a registration form at www.rmmi.org. Entry fees are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors over 60. Race day registration is $5 higher.
This fun 5K race raises funds for apprentice training programs and masonry education programs at Colorado and Wyoming colleges and universities. It supports a cause many people never think about, training and educating the people who build Denver's most beautiful buildings. The Foundation works to encourage students to complete high school and obtain higher education while developing skills in a good-paying, high-demand career.
The Run Around the Block 5K is sponsored by title sponsor Pinnacol Assurance, silver sponsor the Adams County Education Consortium, and bronze sponsors Boral Best Block, Gallegos Corp. and Front Range Community College.
