A tribute to a remarkable lady
On 2/7/2008
Contributed by: Scott Anderson on 2/27/2008

Approximately six and a half years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting longtime Arvada resident Marjorie Reeves. She was 80 years old then and, having suffered a series of strokes, was confined to a wheelchair. She, along with her husband George, became my inspiration.

I met Marjorie and George when I began attending St. James Episcopal Church in Wheat Ridge. They were at services practically every Sunday (only missing if one was sick or the weather was very inclement) and attended almost all of the other church activities. Marjorie always had a smile and kind words for all of us. She was active in the community, generous to those in need, and continually looked for ways to help others.

Marjorie passed away on Feb. 7 at the age of 87, and I, along with all her friends at St. James, are very saddened. All those many lives that she touched will miss her greatly. We will come together on Monday, March 3 at 11 a.m. to celebrate both the blessing she was to us as well as the new life she has now lived into with a memorial service at St. James Episcopal Church, 8325 West 44th Ave., Wheat Ridge.
