1966 state football champs to hold reunion

The 40th reunion of the 1966 Wheat Ridge High School football team will be held on Sept. 30 at Jeffco Stadium. The 1966 Farmers were coached by JW "Red" Coats and featured star running back Freddie Joe Steinmark. The 1966 team went undefeated and won the state championship by defeating George Washington High School on Dec. 3, 1966, at Bears Stadium.

The reunion committee needs help finding all former teammates, classmates, and coaches. All interested fans and guests are welcome to attend. Please contact Stan Politano (303) 215-5202 or Dan Forey (303) 877-0193 for more information.
