Wheat Ridge teacher gets Horace Mann Award

Congratulations to History Teacher Stephanie Rossi. She is a 2009 winner of the Horace Mann Award for Teaching Excellence. Winners were chosen for outstanding instructional expertise, creativity and innovation, attention to diversity and individual student needs, learning styles, leadership in professional development, advocacy for the profession and dedication to lifelong learning, and an ability to engage parents and the community. Ms. Rossi wins a $10,000 check at the NEA Foundation's annual gala in February 2009 in Washington DC and also has the chance of being named the national award winner with another $25,000 prize.
