Jeffco Board of Education names new member

By a unanimous vote, members of the Jefferson County Board of Education have named Rick Rush to fill the vacancy in District 5 created by the resignation of Vince Chowdhury. The vote was taken during the board's regular meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2.

Rush was among three finalists for the board position. He is the parent of two children who have graduated from Chatfield High School and has served on several of the district's community advisory committees including the Financial Oversight Committee and the Strategic Planning and Advisory Committee.

Rush is a health actuary with Aon Consulting and said he will work for quality education for all children in Jefferson County while serving on the board. He will be sworn in on Oct. 16 and will serve until November 2009.
