2. Purpose - Overview of Mission and Goals of Task Force
Council Member Stites expressed appreciation to everyone who volunteered to serve on the Task Force. He presented an overview of the mission and goals of the Task Force . City Council and staff have identified over $110 million in potential public works projects over the next several years; the Parks Master Plan has identified over $43 million in projects over the next several years; and Wheat ridge 2020 has identified over $10 million for land-banking, development and redevelopment projects. Because the city does not have financial resources or personnel to complete all of these projects, the Task Force's mission is to identify, rank and recommend to city council projects that would have the greatest impact for the City. The Task Force will also recommend to City Council which projects should receive funding for design and possible implementation in 2007.
Funding would also include public input and awareness for all projects. Design and implementation would occur in-house or by consultants.
The Task Force will also review all current and potential revenue sources. As projects are ranked, the Task force will utilize the same information and processes used by City Council. (Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy, City Council Strategic Plan and Vision, Parks & Recreation Master Plan, as well as recent citizen surveys.) City Council will make the final determination regarding which projects will go forward.
3. Task Force Meeting Schedule
Council Member Schulz reviewed the Task Force Meeting Schedule. The Task Force will meet twice a month with the last meeting scheduled for May 23, 2007. He commented that there is a positive spirit in Wheat Ridge and that he was hopeful projects could be evaluated and prioritized in order to move ahead.

Patrick Goff, Deputy City Manager reviewed materials contained in the Task Force notebook as well as the evaluation form to be used in prioritizing projects.
