Blotter: Worker single-handedly offends officer

An off-duty police officer reported seeing a one-handed construction worker masturbating at a job site on the 4100 block of Youngfield Street at 1:56 p.m. July 9, police said. When police contacted the man at 2:42 p.m., he said it was "absurd" that someone accused him of masturbating, and he denied doing anything that could have resembled masturbation to passers-by, reports said. The worker's supervisor allegedly told police she didn't think the man could be masturbating because - having only one hand - he wouldn't be able to hold the stop sign and masturbate at the same time. The case was still open at the time of the report pending further investigation by police.

Police responded to a home on the 6400 block of West 38th Avenue at 5:27 p.m. July 26 after receiving a report of a woman pulling her shirt up as cars passed by. The 43-year-old woman displayed signs of being intoxicated and had a large half-empty bottle of vodka next to the couch on which she was sitting, police said. Police transported the woman to detox for her welfare.

A woman told police an older man had lifted the right leg of his shorts to expose his genitals in her direction as she drove past a home on the 7200 block of West 48th Avenue at 4:12 p.m. July 29, reports said. Police contacted the 58-year-old short-shorts-wearing man, who allegedly said there was a possibility he could have scratched or rearranged his shorts, thereby exposing himself. The man was very apologetic, saying he didn't realize the shorts were so revealing and that he wears them when it is hot outside, police said. The officer suggested that the man choose his clothes more carefully and possibly use an undergarment when wearing shorts.

A 27-year-old man who backed out of a deal to purchase marijuana for his former co-worker told police the former co-worker threatened to kill his daughter and burn down his house at 9:55 p.m. July 27, according to reports. He allegedly said he accepted $100 from the former co-worker to buy marijuana from a third party and then decided against it, which led the man to call and make threats. Police said they were unable to contact the former co-worker with the phone number provided to them, nor were they able to identify him in a search through DMV files, so no charges were pursued.

A 55-year-old woman called police to report a broken barrel-type planter at a home on the 3400 block of Flower Street at 4:03 p.m. July 31, police said. The woman reportedly told police strange things have been happening since March at the house, which is used by a nonprofit organization that provides services to women with breast cancer. She said she came to the residence one day and found dog feces circling the deck. She also said some of the neighbors don't approve of the facility because it causes too much traffic in the area, although only two patients a day come to the building, police said.

These couldn't all be on the same day - could they?

This is definitely better than the usual police blotter.......I think I'll stay down here by castle Rock, though.....
